I have spent a lot of time perusing the vine and noticed a few things:
1. Though both sides are well represented the make up of the vine is largely left of center. (just stating facts. I personally am center of center and depending on the topic may sway right or left)
2. No matter how much you say "no politics" or just "stay on topic" the extremists from both sides will appear and spout their point of view never looking at the original topic. (see #1 you'll notice that I too went straight to politics first).
3. OK-Pet peeve "Can this country afford the cost of tax cuts for the rich" or "This country can-not afford the cost of tax cuts"
To start with a tax cut cost nothing. Let me repeat that: Tax cuts "cost" nothing. It's not a matter of spending money to buy a product. Lets see I've save all year to go out and buy a tax cut. The cost is $1B. No! There is no cost. There is a loss of revenue or a loss of income that you cannot now spend. Your spending power is reduced but you "spent" nothing. And don't go telling me you are giving me my money back when you make a cut in taxes. Unless you send me a check you're not giving me back anything. You are simply not taking it away from me anymore. Remember it is not the governments money to begin with.
Is it right to make a tax cut? That can and will be argued from both sides to suit their individual needs but I'm not going there. (however watch the posts as both sides will weigh in see#2).
Whew! Either these flames are getting higher or I need to go on a diet, better step down before this soapbox breaks.
